Nokia Battery Replacement (BL-5C)

I have a message for all of you who are using the BL-5C battery for your Nokia

handphone, which was produced between December 2005 and November

2006. Some of the users reported that their battery was exploded due to the

overheating initiated by a short-circuit while charging. There have been over

100 incidents of overheating have been reported globally. No serious injuries

or property damage, however,  has been reported.

Nevertheless, for your own safety, I advice those Nokia users with the BL-5C

battery who are applicable for the battery replacement quickly visit the nearest

Nokia Care centre to obtain your new genuine battery, FOC! To check if your

battery was produced within the manufacturing period, go to

and key in the 26-character battery identification numbers from the back of

your battery. These only applied to Nokia genuine battery and if your battery

does not contain the identification numbers, you are not eligible for the free

battery replacement from Nokia.
